Announcing some changes and saying goodbye ✌

First, an announcement:

Friends, as February draws to a close it's time to announce my departure from the Ops Community moderator team and I want to take this opportunity to thank you all.

Ever since I officially joined the team last summer, I've enjoyed getting to know our regular contributors through your content and comments - and in the process I've learned so much more about DevOps than I ever thought I could!

Thanks for welcoming me into the space, showing up to share your experiences, and answering my questions (or bearing with my DevOps ignorance!). I've had so much fun watching this community evolve as you help each other, gain new skills of your own, and build your own followings. Every moment has been a privilege.

We'd love your help!

That's right! You can help this community enter a new chapter:

Frequent readers will have observed that the Weekly Achievements series posts have grown longer as more posts are being published each week (which has given me so much more material to explore and digest, so thanks again!), and those of you who have been around for some time will have noticed the badges popping up in your profiles for reaching follower and publishing milestones. The time and attention that this growing community deserves is expanding with its readership.

This is the ideal time for you to take up the Tag Moderator or Trusted User role you've been thinking about!

We want to continue to celebrate excellent content, and to do that we need your expert opinions on the accuracy and validity of the content that is being shared. If you're a specialist in Azure, Pulumi, tutorials, observability, etc., or just want to help keep this community healthy, we would love to hear from you!

Drop the team a note at socials@ops.io or leave a comment below.

Let me be the first to thank @ellativity for her MASSIVE contributions to The Ops Community. 🙏

I'm selfishly sad to see you go, and I know many other community members will be as well. From your weekly updates to friendly comments in posts, you brought joy, empathy, and community to so many folks over the last year.

We could never replace Ella, but @patrick_londa and I will still be here keeping the community running. Please let us know if you're interested in getting more involved!

@melissakaulfuss You absolutely can! Is it ok if I email you directly to schedule time and talk Ops Community?

This is largely thanks to our incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating community members.

It can be intimidating to ask questions about tech that I don't fully grasp, but nobody has ever made me feel like I've asked a foolish or obvious question! Couldn't have asked for more grace in my wildest dreams!

Thank you @ellativity for everything you've done for this community!

Seeing your weekly updates have been a consistent inspiration, and have helped bring members of this community together. Personally, you also kept me accountable and cared to follow up to see if I had published that article or met that goal. And the example and tone you've set for this community is something I'm especially grateful for, and will be a reminder for us to stay kind, honest, and curious.

As Ella and @johnson_brad have both said, we'll need help from many hands to maintain and grow this community, so if you're interested in becoming a moderator for a tag or speciality, please let us know.

Happy the weekly posts held you accountable! Sometimes it's hard to know if I'm just getting on people's nerves 😅

Thank you for your generous compliment, although I feel that I merely carried on the kindness and curiosity that was already present in this community when I joined - and that's down to you and Brad. I'm just relieved I didn't mess it up!

Looking forward to watching this community grow with our members' input 🚀

Thank you so much for the kind words, @melissakaulfuss! I'm so glad you felt welcomed when you joined, and I hope you continue to feel at home in this community.

It's exciting to see you've volunteered to help out! I already feel better about letting go of everything, knowing that Brad and Patrick will be supported by our members, so thank you for this as well.

Thank you @ellativity for everything you have done! It’s very sad to see you go. You made me feel very welcomed and the weekly posts kept me going.
