Spyfall Game Rules

Spyfall is a fun, fast-paced social deduction party game where players try to figure out who among them is the Spy. One player is secretly the Spy, while everyone else knows the secret location where the group is gathered. Through clever questions and answers, players must identify the Spy without revealing too much information about the location.
Number of Players
The game is designed for 3 to 8 players and works best with larger groups for more chaotic and enjoyable deduction.
What You Need
You only need the Spyfall app (or printed cards if playing physically). The app handles everything: locations, roles, timer, and scoring.
Setup

One player starts the game in the app and selects the number of players.
Each player receives a secret role on their device:
Most players get the same Location (for example, "Airplane", "Bank", or "Beach").
Exactly one player is the Spy and does not know the location.

The app randomly chooses a location from a large list of interesting and varied places.

How to Play
The game is played in rounds. Each round has a time limit (usually 5–8 minutes, adjustable in the app).
Players take turns asking each other questions. The goal for the non-Spy players (villagers) is to ask and answer questions in a way that helps them identify the Spy, while giving as little information as possible about the actual location.
The Spy’s goal is to blend in by asking good questions and giving believable answers without knowing the location.
Questioning and Discussion

Questions should be clever and indirect.
Answers must be short and natural.
Players can ask anyone except themselves.
The Spy must try to guess the location based on the questions and answers, while the others try to catch the Spy through inconsistencies.

Voting Phase
At any time during the round (or when time runs out), any player can call for a vote. All players then vote on who they think is the Spy.
The player with the most votes is accused.
Winning Conditions

If the villagers correctly identify the Spy: The villagers win the round.
If the Spy is not identified (or if the majority votes for the wrong person): The Spy wins the round.
Special Spy win: If the Spy correctly guesses the location at the end of the round (before or after voting), the Spy can win even if accused.

Scoring
The app keeps track of points:

Villagers earn points for correctly catching the Spy.
The Spy earns points for surviving the round or correctly guessing the location.
Multiple rounds are usually played, and the player with the most points at the end wins the game.

Tips for Playing

Non-Spy players should avoid obvious location-specific answers that would immediately reveal the place.
The Spy should listen carefully and ask questions that could fit many different locations.
Creative and funny questions often make the game more enjoyable.
Accusing too early or too late can both be risky strategies.

how to play spyfall is easy to learn but offers endless replayability thanks to its simple rules and the social deduction element. It’s perfect for parties, game nights, or any gathering where you want laughter and clever conversation. Enjoy the game!
