Has Anyone Successfully Recovered Their GED Records Through Official Channels?

I recently realized that I no longer have my GED certificate, and I need it for employment and future education opportunities. I have been trying to understand the correct process for getting a replacement, but there seems to be a lot of conflicting information depending on where the GED was originally earned.

Has anyone here gone through the official replacement process? How long did it take to receive your replacement certificate or transcript? Were there any unexpected fees or identity verification steps that slowed things down?

I also came across the name Quick Diplomas while searching online. Has anyone used Quick Diplomas for document-related services? I want to make sure I only use legitimate services that help with record retrieval or educational document assistance rather than anything that could create problems later.

Another question I have is whether employers usually accept replica GED certificate maker, or do they still prefer an official printed certificate? If you needed your records quickly, what was the fastest option available?

I noticed that some states appear to have different procedures than others. Does the process depend entirely on the state where the GED exam was taken, or is there a central service that handles replacement requests?

If anyone has recent experience replacing a lost GED certificate, I would really appreciate hearing what worked for you, how long the process took, and whether there were any common mistakes I should avoid before submitting my request.
