Do you check print output, or just that the job completed?

Hi everyone,

I maintain a free printer test page site, and building it made me notice a gap: a print job can succeed and still come out wrong.

Example: an A4 document printed on Letter with "Fit" enabled comes out at about 94%. No error, nothing clipped, but a label or form no longer lines up.

My current check is simple: print a reference sheet with a 100 mm bar, measure it, and compare. I made a scale checker that does the maths in the browser.

I wanted to ask:

In automated print workflows, does anyone validate physical output?

Would you do it client-side (a printable reference file) or in the backend?

Any better signal than a ruler?

Would love to hear your thoughts.
