As I've been spending more time working with Linux and DevOps tools, I've realized that it's often the small habits—not the complex technologies—that have the biggest impact on productivity.

A few practices that have helped me are:

Using shell aliases for commands I run repeatedly.
Reading log files with journalctl instead of immediately searching online for errors.
Testing scripts in a non-production environment before deploying them.
Keeping configuration files under version control whenever possible.
Learning basic networking tools like ss, curl, dig, and traceroute to troubleshoot issues more effectively.

One thing I've also learned is that automation shouldn't be the first step. Understanding the manual process first makes it much easier to automate it correctly later using tools like Bash, Ansible, or CI/CD pipelines.

I'm still learning every day, and one of the best parts of the Linux and DevOps community is seeing how different engineers approach the same problem.

What is one Linux command, workflow, or DevOps habit that has saved you the most time? I'd love to hear what others have found useful.
